Spicy Potato Fry (Masaladar Aloo) Recipe

Spicy potato fry is an effortless recipe which can be served with rice or chapatis, and once again I wanted to entail that spicy is not the metonym for hotness of chili, it is just the contrivance of different spices which makes the recipe aromatic and savory. Let’s quickly learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Spicy Aloo (Masaladar Aloo)

  • 1 cup Peeled potatoes cut into half inches
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste (those who are not using onion and garlic use coriander seed and ginger paste along with asafoetida)
  • 2 tbsp Onion and green chili paste (One medium sized onion and 1 green chili)
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri lal mirch powder
  • 1 tsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Kitchen king powder or any vegetable powder
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Put the diced potatoes and stir fry it.
  3. When it turns golden brown then its time to add the spices.
  4. Add turmeric powder in the pan and mix it.
  5. Add onion green chili paste and ginger garlic paste in the same pan and stir fry them.
  6. Add kashmiri lal mirch powder and mix it well.
  7. Add kasoori methi and mix it well.
  8. Add salt, coriander powder and kitchen king powder and sear them together.
  9. Serve it with chapatis, or rice, lentils. You can even garnish it with coriander leaves if you want.
