Spinach And Gram Lentils Recipe (Palak Chana dal)

Spinach is very nutritious and when it gets the concoction of lentils then it becomes complete food. Addition of spices along with ginger, black pepper, onion etc adds aroma to this recipe. It can be served with rice or chapatis, let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Spinach And Gram Lentils Recipe (Palak Chana dal)

  • 1 cup Overnight soaked Gram lentils
  • 3 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 3 tbsp Chopped Tomato
  • 2 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 2 Pieces Red dried chili
  • 5 Pieces Black pepper corn
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Green chili
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri lal mirch
  • 1 tsp Amchoor Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 cup Chopped Spinach Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  1. Take all the ingredients as shown in the image.
  2. Take soaked lentils.
  3. Heat clarified butter in the pressure cooker, add bay leaf, dried red chili, black pepper, green chili and chopped onion, let them turn translucent.
  4. Add chopped tomato and stir fry them.
  5. Add soaked lentils in the pressure cooker.
  6. Stir fry them for some time.
  7. Add chopped spinach leaves.
  8. Add all the spices in the cooker.
  9. Stir fry them, then add water and pressure cook it with 5 whistle.
  10. After it gets cool down, add lemon juice.
  11. With the help of whipping tool whip it.
  12. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it.
