Whole Wheat Urad Kachori Recipe

I tried to prepare urad kachori but this time though to prepare whole wheat kachori, just wanted to know the difference in taste, and yeah it is amazing, cooking technique always plays an important part to make the recipe delicious. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Whole Wheat Urad Kachori Recipe

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 3 tbsp Split white lentils (Urad lentils)
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Kashiri mirch powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1 cup Mustard Oil
  • 1 tbsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
  1. Prepare dough by adding coriander leaves and kasoori methi in the whole wheat flour, add few drops of oil while combining them and finally add water to form a dough as shown in the image. Let it rest for few minutes.
  2. Meanwhile heat a pan and add a tbsp of mustard oil, add cumin seeds let it splutter, then add urad lentils sprinkle all the spices keep stirring them.
  3. When they turns golden brown, switch off the flame and let it cook down, in a grinding jar add the ingredients and take a whirl around.
  4. Filling for the kachori is ready.
  5. Heat mustard oil in a pan.
  6. Meanwhile take a small portion of dough and prepare boll shapes , then put the fillings in between and prepare kachories.
  7. Fry them on low to medium flame.
  8. Serve it with your favorite chutney.
