Aloo Kathal (Potato-Jackfruit) Kofta Recipe

Jack fruit can be considered as a vegetable when it is raw but after ripening it turns out into tasty fruit. It is wholesome either as fruit or vegetable. I’m preparing potato and jackfruit kofta which is very delicious with the aroma of spices in it, I’m using boiled potato and gram flour to form a binding consistency. Let’s learn how to cook this recipe.

Aloo Kathal (Potato-Jackfruit) Kofta Recipe

  • 1 cup Boiled and sliced jack fruit
  • 2 Pieces Boiled Potatoes
  • 5 tsp Gram Flour (To form the binding consistency)
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Lal mirch
  • 1 cup Grind Onion
  • 1&1/2 cup Grind tomato pure
  • 1 tsp Chopped Green chilli
  • 1 tbsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tbsp Kitchen king powder
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp Curd
  1. Take boiled jack fruit and boiled potatoes on strainer and let it cools, once it cools down pill off the cover.
  2. Using hand masher mash them then add salt, turmeric powder, garam masla, kashmiri lal mirch, gram flour, kasoori methi and a pinch of kitchen king masala to prepare the mixture of kofta.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and put the dumplings for frying.
  4. When they turns golden brown then remove it from the oil.
  5. Heat a tbsp of oil in another pan, then add cumin seeds and ginger garlic paste.
  6. Cook them together to get the cooked aroma of ginger and garlic.
  7. Add grind paste of onion into it and mix them together.
  8. Add tomato paste in the pan and give it a good mix.
  9. Add chopped green chili into the pan and cook them together.
  10. Add kasoori methi and stir fry the spices.
  11. Add salt and turmeric powder followed by kashmiri lal mirch.
  12. Add curd and mix them together.
  13. After some time add kitchen king powder and stir fry.
  14. Add a cup of water and boil it after few minutes turn off the flame and gravy of the kofta is ready.
  15. In a serving bowl put koftas.
  16. Drizzle the gravy as shown in the image.
  17. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and the recipe is ready to be served.
