Amawat or Aam papad is the traditional candy made with mango pulp which is extracted from the ripened mango and it is being basked under the sun for a few days to turn it into candy, it is very common in India to prepare this recipe, but in places with scarce sun rays this recipe cannot be prepared just by basking, so for those who lack this scorching summer season and still want to enjoy this candy! they should make it instantly using a microwave or a oven. Amawat Recipe | Mango Candy | Aampapad |Homemade Sweet and Spicy Mango Candy

  • 2 Cup Mango pulp
  • ¼ Cup Powdered sugar (Add as per your choice )
  • ½ tsp Red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp Black salt
  • ½ tsp Mango powder
  • ½ tsp Black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp Clarified butter
  • ½ tsp Roasted cumin powder
  1. In a pan heat clarified butter.



  2. Add mango pulp and mix it well.



  3. Add powdered sugar and mix it well.



  4. Add all the spices including Kashmiri red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, black salt, black pepper powder and mango powder. mix well.



  5. Give it a boil and switch off the flame.



  6. Transfer it to a greased container and bake it at 180 ℃ or 350 ℉ for 20 minutes or microwave it for 20 to 25 minutes in convection at 180 ℃.



  7. Cut it into pieces and enjoy.
