Beetroot Poori Recipe

Beetroot is very nutritious and if added in wheat flour for the preparation of poori or any other flatbread then recipes gains another sumptuous delight. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this colourful poori recipe.

Beetroot Poori Recipe

  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 3 tbsp Grind Beetroot
  • 1 tsp Celery Seeds (Ajwain)
  • 1 tsp Kalonji or Mangrail, Black Caraway, Nigella,
  • 1 tsp Rock Salt/ Sea Salt
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil/Ghee (Clarified Butter) (For frying and dough preparation)
  1. In wheat flour add 1 tbsp of clarified butter, ajwain, mangril, salt and mix it well.
  2. Add grind beetroot in the same mixture and prepare dough if required then add 2 tbsp of water and finally apply clarified butter in hand and mash the dough to make it smooth.
  3. With the help of rolling pin and rolling board prepare small chapatis as shown in the image.
  4. In heated clarified butter fry it from both the sides.
  5. You can serve this poori with kheer or any curry recipe.
