Kaddu Dal|Lauki Chana Dal Recipe|Bihari Style

In Bihar or eastern parts of India, most of us call lauki, doodhi or ghiya as kaddu, so you must be thinking what we call kaddu? Hilarious but we call kaddu by its name kohada. I still remember the days of my M.B.A. in Indore ( M.P), where they call bottle gourd as lauki, although we know lauki is the name of bottle gourd still common kaddu dal always appears in our speaking terms, then got a job in an MNC at Delhi, where they use to call it ghiya, this name was really new to me! Then I relocated to Hyderabad after marriage. And here it is! My journey as a blogger started and I am reciting the story to all of you!

This tasty Lauki Chana Dal is a North Indian curry made with bottle gourd, gram lentils, tomatoes, chilies, onion, and spices. This curry has a depth of flavor, is tangy, and is a bit spicy.
