Laccha Makhana (Lotus Seeds) Kheer Recipe

Makhana is considered as non grain and eaten during fast, I thought to add some twist and changed its color with creamy layers in it. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Laccha Makha (Lotus Seeds) Kheer Recipe

  • 1 liter Full cream milk
  • 1 cup Makhana (Lotus Seeds)
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tbsp Beetroot juice
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Chopped cashew nut
  • 1 tbsp Chopped almonds
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 tsp Rose Water
  1. Take boiled milk and simmer it on medium to low flame in such a way that layer of cream can form, then start separating the cream on the sides of pan.
  2. Dry roast lotus seeds and grind it coarsely.
  3. Add dry fruits and sugar into milk when it turns thick.
  4. With the help of spoon remove creams from the side walls of pan and mix it with thickened milk.
  5. Drizzle beetroot juice in the same pan and keep removing the creams.
  6. Add coarsely grind lotus seeds in the pan.
  7. Serve it hot or chilled as per your choice.
