Matar moong dal Wheat Kachori

I thought to prepare this kachori with moong lentils and Green peas, and for making it more healthy I used wheat flour so that it can be consumed without any fear of weight gain, amazingly it came out very crispy and delightful. Let’s learn step by step process to prepare this recipe.

Matar moong dal Wheat Kachori

For the fillings

  • 1/4 Cup Moong lentils
  • 1/2 Cup Green pees
  • 1 Cup Chopped onion
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 1 tsp Chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Salt (As per your taste )
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp Chole masala powder
  • 1 tsp Roasted coriander seeds powder

For the Dough

  • 1 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Celery seeds
  • 1 tsp Onion seeds
  • 1 tsp Kasoori methi (Dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 tbsp Oil (Adding more oil will make it more crispy)
  • 1 tsp Salt (As per the taste )
  • 1 cup Water (To prepare the dough)

For the dough

  1. In a mixing bowl add 1 cup of whole wheat flour.



  2. Add celery seeds, onion seeds and dried fenugreek leaves after crushing them with hands.



  3. Add oil and mix it with the hand for a few minutes.



  4. When it starts to get bind.



  5. Add water and prepare the dough out of it.



  6. Cover the dough with a damp cloth.



For the filling

  1. Take all the ingredients.



  2. In a pan add the cumin seeds.



  3. Add mustard oil in the pan.



  4. Add chopped onion in the pan.



  5. Add chopped green chillies and fry them together.



  6. Add moong lentils in the pan.



  7. Add green pea into the pan.



  8. Cook them together.



  9. Add salt, turmeric powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder into the pan and mix them well.



  10. Add roasted coriander powder.



  11. Cook them well.



  12. Add chole masala powder in the pan and mix it well.



  13. Grind it coarsely.



  14. Add chopped coriander leaves into it and mix it well, the filling is ready.



Making of kachories

  1. Take the dough and divide it into equal parts.



  2. Prepare the dumplings as shown.



  3. Take one dumpling and prepare it in the shapes of the bowl.



  4. Put the feeling and cover it to form the shape of the kachories.



  5. Roll it if required.



  6. Kachori is ready, meanwhile, heat the oil.



  7. Fry them on low to medium flame.



  8. Kachories are ready.



  9. Kachories can be served with pickles or chutneys.
