Moong And Toor Dal Fry (Tadka Dal) Recipe
- 1/2 cup Toor dal
- 2 tbsp Moong Dal (Lentil)
- 1 tbsp Clarified butter (Ghee)
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Chopped Garlic
- 2 tbsp Chopped Onion
- 2 tbsp Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Chopped Green chili
- 1 tsp Kashmiri lal mirch powder
- 2 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tsp kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)
- 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leves
- In a pressure cooker put half hour soaked and washed lentils along with salt, turmeric powder and 3 cups of water. Pressure cook them with 4 to 5 whistles. Meanwhile heat clarified butter in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
- Add chopped garlic and let it turn aromatic.
- Add chopped onion, tomatoes and green chili in the pan.
- Add turmeric powder, kashmiri lal mirch powder, kasoori methi and a pinch of salt and stir fry them unless the rawness disappear.
- Add cooked lentils in the pan and fry them together.
- When lentils become thick then switch off the flame garnish it with coriander leaves.
- Serve it with rice or chapatis.
