Pink Lentils Pudding for New Mothers (NURSING MOTHER) (Postpartum Recipe)

Today we are posting a postpartum recipe for new mothers, motherhood is miraculously blissful as it gives an opportunity to carry a new life, which seems easy but it is not so. Although most of the people take this as natural phenomena but it is a huge examination for new parents, specially for a mother. A mother should take care of her mental and physical health during these nine months.

Before becoming a mother, a women should know the snags she would have to face during every steps and she should be well prepared both physically & mentally beforehand, as those who don’t get the opportunity to get pampered during these period they suffers a lot later on while ascending towards their old age.

In India there are several version of vegetarian postpartum recipes, which increases breast milk, recovers from blood loss, infections & enhance nutritional balance of new mother.

Pink Lentils Pudding for New Mother's (Postpartum Recipe)

  • 1 Litre Milk
  • 2 tsp Pink Lentils (Masoor dal)
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Almonds, cashew nuts and raisins etc
  • 2 tbsp Jaggery
  1. Take two tsp of pink lentils (Masoor dal) and soak them for 15 minutes.



  2. Heat milk in a container.



  3. After 15 minutes remove water and put it aside.



  4. When milk starts to boil then add lentils and cook it for thirty minutes, In between steer it occasionally.



  5. Add chopped dry-fruits into it.



  6. When milk get reduced then switch off the flame and add jaggery into it.



  7. Serve it hot or cold to the milching mother as it increases the Brest milk of new mothers.
